Basic Keelboat Sailing – ASA 101

Experience Level: No experience is necessary, but we recommend taking ASA’s online course “Your First Sail”
Rates: $750-$900 ($150 for 3rd Day)

Learn to skipper a 24-37ft keelboat in light to moderate winds (up to 15 knots) and sea conditions. Learn basic sailing terminology, parts and functions, helm commands, basic sail trim, points of sail, buoyage, seamanship and safety, and basic navigation rules to avoid collisions and hazards.
On completion of the course, you will receive the official ASA Logbook signed by your instructor, an ASA 101 Certification Sticker, and a 90-day trial ASA Membership.
The ASA 101 Basic Keelboat Certification provides a solid foundation in the basics of sailing and will teach you the essential skills to skipper a boat up to 35ft on your own. The course offers a combination of classroom and on-the-water training aboard our own Bluenose 24 or Jeanneau 379.
